Need help with the Sprayer Calculator?

Start by identifying whether the issue is about the calculator workflow, a saved RanchAssist project file, an export/share action, or the real-world spray application itself.

IMPORTANT BOUNDARY

RanchAssist can help explain how the calculator works and how its arithmetic is produced.

RanchAssist should not be used to:

- Choose a pesticide, herbicide, adjuvant, or other product for you.

- Invent or infer a legal application rate.

- Determine whether a tank mix is compatible or legal.

- Replace the current product label.

- Replace applicator licensing or training.

- Certify sprayer calibration, application accuracy, worker protection, environmental compliance, or regulatory compliance.

For product use, application restrictions, PPE, re-entry, grazing/haying intervals, mixing sequence, environmental precautions, compatibility, or other legal directions, use the current product label and the appropriate qualified/local sources.

QUICK HELP

1. My tank-load count looks wrong.

Check:

- Field acres

- Target GPA

- Usable tank capacity

- Whether you entered the actual usable capacity rather than the nominal tank size

Core formulas:

Total spray volume = acres × GPA

Acres per tank = tank gallons ÷ GPA

Refills = tank loads − 1

2. My final partial tank looks too small or too large.

The final load is based on the spray volume remaining after all full tanks. Confirm acres, GPA, and tank capacity. Product quantities for the final load are prorated to the remaining acres/final spray volume.

3. My product quantity looks wrong.

Check:

- Product rate

- Rate unit

- Whether the label expresses the rate per acre, per 100 gallons, or as a percent final solution

- Whether a custom per-acre unit is the correct choice

RanchAssist does not infer weight/volume conversions for custom units.

4. My calibration GPA looks wrong.

Check:

- Boom width or nozzle spacing and nozzle count

- Travel speed in mph

- Per-nozzle GPM

- Catch-test volume, nozzles tested, and catch time

- Whether measured values were collected under the same operating conditions you intend to use

Calibration formula:

GPA = 5,940 × total boom GPM ÷ (mph × boom width in inches)

5. My catch-test result looks wrong.

Confirm the total fluid ounces collected, the number of nozzles represented by that total, and the catch duration in seconds.

Per-nozzle GPM =

(total catch fl oz ÷ nozzles tested ÷ 128)

× (60 ÷ catch seconds)

6. My cost per acre looks wrong.

Check:

- Product container size

- Container unit

- Container price

- Carrier cost

- Labor rate

- Equipment rate

- Fuel/operating cost

- Other fixed cost

- Whether job hours are being derived from calibration or entered manually

7. My saved .ra project will not open.

Confirm that:

- The file ends in .ra

- It was created by RanchAssist Sprayer Calculator

- The file is complete and has not been manually altered

- You are opening it in Sprayer Calculator rather than a different RanchAssist tool

The importer intentionally rejects wrong-tool, malformed, incomplete, or unsupported project files instead of guessing.

8. I cleared the session. Is my saved project gone?

Clear Session removes the active browser-session project. It does not delete .ra project files or other exports already saved to your device.

9. Email sharing is not working.

In the Google Apps Script deployment, Email Summary depends on Apps Script MailApp authorization and deployment permissions. The standalone static HTML version cannot use MailApp and may fall back to the device's normal email workflow.

10. Print / PDF looks different from the screen.

Use the app's print action and browser print dialog. For a PDF, choose the browser's Save as PDF option where available. Print styling prioritizes the project summary, products, calculations, costs, notes, and label notice over interactive controls.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN A SUPPORT REQUEST

To make a calculator issue easier to diagnose, include:

- The page or mode: Mix, Coverage, Calibration, or Cost

- Device/browser

- The values you entered, excluding information you do not want to share

- What result you expected

- What result appeared

- The exact error message, if any

- A screenshot when it helps explain the interface problem

- Whether you are using the Google Apps Script web app or the standalone HTML version

Do not send:

- Passwords

- Private API keys

- Authentication tokens

- Sensitive credentials

- Information from a pesticide label that you have not verified as current

PROJECT PRIVACY

Sprayer Calculator is designed without a required account or RanchAssist project database.

Active-session recovery may use sessionStorage. Long-term save/resume uses a local .ra project file controlled by you.

If you choose Email Summary, the recipient address and the summary content must be processed to send the message. Share only information you intend to send.
